Lacrosse Helmets
- Lacrosse Helmets are required to meet the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) standard for lacrosse at the time of manufacturing. All Cascade helmets are made in the USA, meet or exceed the NOCSAE standard for lacrosse and carry the NOCSAE logo. The NOCSAE logo and/or the words "meets NOCSAE standard" on the product are your only indication the product meets the rigorous requirements of NOCSAE.
- There is no requirement in the NOCSAE helmets standards for the frequency of recertification or reconditioning. Re-certification and Reconditioning are separate services that can be purchased and performed independently. The need for reconditioning will vary due to intensity and amount of usage. It is recommended by NOCSAE that each school or organization utilize a system to inspect their helmets on a regular basis and make their reconditioning decisions based on that schedule and the manufacturer's recommendation.
- It is Cascade's recommendation that Cascade helmets be re-certified by an approved agency every year OR replaced after 3 years if it has not been re-certified. The intention of our recommendation is to ensure that players are wearing a helmet that hasn't been compromised. Participation in sports requires an acceptance of risk of injury. The risk of injury is what drives Cascade to educate retailers, coaches, athletics directors, players and all parties involved to ensure that players are in the right product that is properly maintained. For a fee, the approved agency will inspect and return the helmet.
- All Cascade helmets carry a one year, unconditional warranty. There is no predetermined lifespan of a Cascade lacrosse helmet. If the helmet is taken care of, re-certified and isn't misused it should last many seasons.
- Cascade has been making lacrosse helmets for over 20 years, funded NOCSAE to develop the original standard for lacrosse helmets and continues to fund current studies and projects. You can rest assured that Cascade helmets have always met or exceeded the NOCSAE standard and will always meet or exceed the NOCSAE standard. If your helmet ever fails to meet the NOCSAE standard due to a change in the standard Cascade will replace your helmet at no charge.
